Born in Budapest and educated in Paris and Amsterdam, classical dancer Juliette Kando tours the world with the Dutch National Ballet and the Deutsche Oper Berlin. In 1968 she settles in London to study choreology, defined by Rudolph Benesh as “The aesthetic and scientific study of human movement by means of Benesh dance and movement notation”. She becomes a Fellow of the Institute of Choreology in 1972. As a choreologist, she stages the works of Bronislava Nijinska (the great Nijinsky’s sister) for the Paris Opera Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York and other companies.
